Reggae Rise Up Vegas 2024 – Lineup Intro – Aurorawave (the band)

With months to go before the highly anticipated Cali Reggae festival, Reggae Rise up in Las Vegas, we wanted to start a series highlighting the bands scheduled to perform.

Next in our series is Aurorawave, scheduled for Day 3 of Reggae Rise Up Vegas 2024, and below is our overview.

Band Name: Aurorawave

Year Established: 2024

Hometown:  California

Band Members:
  • Nathan Feinstein (Lead Vocals, Guitar)

  • Mike Mocerino (Guitarist)

  • Ray Worrick (Bass)

Discography:
  • Meant to Be (2024 – Not released at the time of this writing)

Commentary:

The former lead vocalist for Iya Terra, Nathan Feinstein, left the band and started Aurorawave.  From a core “Cali Reggae” perspective it definitely sits on the perimeter but that is not a bad thing.  It takes bands like this one and people like Nathan to push the circle outwards.  Don’t get me wrong, the music is incredible and there are reggae aspects inside, but the music is unique in this genre and I suspect that is exactly what he (Nathan Feinsten) wanted.

Aurorawave puts on an amazing energetic show and if you haven’t seen them yet – please do!  You can feel Nathan’s passion for music and when Mike and Ray start jamming together you can feel their energy.  They are exactly where they should be.

But this change in direction is not without its critics though.  If you go look up on the subreddit r/calireggae you’ll see comments of Aurowave like “meh”, “not for me”,  and “I miss Iya Terra”.  Change, for some, takes some time and after the dust has settled, fans of Cali Reggae (and other genres of music actually) will take to Aurowave.

We don’t have a top 10 song list but with the releases available on YouTube this is our favorite song:

Inferno
